Look online and there're a million articles on how to find the perfect career for your personality type. ISTJ? Be a dentist. INFJ? A psychologist. But these careers take years of school. What if you don't have a degree? What if you're reentering the workforce after many years?

You can still find blue collar, pink collar, and even white collar jobs that fit your personality without a four year degree or long training. Many just need a couple months of certification or a HS diploma. Start with learning your Myers-Briggs. There are several free tests.

Read up on your result. It may surprise you how accurately it pinpoints your stressors. Overall, introverted personalities (those beginning with 'I') will do better on small teams or working alone. Extroverts (E) like group teams and deal well with a revolving door of customers.

ISTJ: You are reliable and detail oriented. You thrive in more traditional settings with set structure and organization. The military comes to mind. You may also like jobs like bank teller or a home or job site inspector. Cultivate your meticulous but reserved nature.

INFJ: You are an idealist and creative type who sees the world a bit differently. You thrive in caring and helpful careers where your empathy can lead. A certificate for art therapy and memory care helps you help seniors. Or try massage therapy or similarly 'tranquil' jobs.

INTJ: You're quiet and very introverted, a problem solver who sees connections others don't. Supply chain management, landscaping, optical tech, or payroll administration will keep you fixing issues but not dealing with much uncertainty or interfacing with the public much.

ENFJ: You're a people focused individual and natural connector who wants to make the world better. You're an ideal childcare provider. Being a social services assistant or in social activism would be very rewarding too. Anything where your idealism and strong ethics can prevail.

ISTP: Action oriented, rational and very practical--you excel at troubleshooting and hands on technical skills. Spontaneity doesn't bother you, so an ever changing environment is ok. Paramedics, firefighting, carpentry/construction, or corrections would be very good jobs for you.

ESFJ: You NEED to be with people to be happy and need to be needed. You like to be a social hub but also value cooperation and harmony. Look for jobs in event planning, restaurants, office management, personal fitness, as a personal assistant, or as a flight attendant.

INFP: Loyal and cooperative, strongly convicted and a daydreamer--you are philosophical. You'd make a great missionary or priest. Barring that, look for work in rehabilitation, bookselling, pet grooming or art where you can wear your convictions, explore philosophies or daydream.
