Let’s say you’re late for an appointment only to find that your car has been clamped. At that very moment, you get a call from someone asking if you’d be interested in changing phone providers. That’s when you lose your patience and tell them where to shove their savings offer.

The person you're talking to has no idea what’s going on in your life – nor are they responsible for it. Yet the price of catching you at the wrong time is to bear the brunt of your frustration. It makes no sense, it can’t be predicted, but it happens all the time.

Bottom line: You wouldn’t blame yourself if rain started pouring down out of nowhere. It’s the same with people: their actions can be unpredictable and out of your control. The key is not to take negativity personally. Instead, just let it pass like any other bout of bad weather.
