Human Intelligence is incredibly diverse, encompassing the brain's left &amp; right hemispheres, central &amp; peripheral nervous systems, emotional intelligence, instinct &amp; intuition. It's a complex interplay of components that go far beyond just problem solving or pattern recognition

Consciousness is even more complex than intelligence! It’s a simultaneously subjective, intersubjective &amp; objective. It’s a sense of self, agency, will &amp; a connection to something greater. Consciousness is even more complex than intelligence! It’s a simultaneously subjective, intersubjective & objective. It’s a sense of self, agency, will & a connection to something greater. When people talk about AGI taking over the world, this is what they're conceptualising.


What they’re really afraid of is some high powered entity with a will of its own. But such hysteria is unfounded bc this implies consciousness, not intelligence &amp; EVEN IF an AGI were to exhibit human-like behaviour, consciousness remains an entirely different matter.

The real concern lies in high-powered, narrowly-intelligent programs that simulate human-like behavior but lack their own agency. Imagine dealing a high-powered NPC that can talk. Hell on earth. AGI a red herring - how these tools are used &amp; who has access is what matters.

We might one day achieve a more generally intelligent amalgamation of tools through a blend of technologies, but we're unlikely to have the spontaneous emergence of sentience from computation..Sorry nerds, but God is not in the code, neither is your girlfriend.. BUT..even so..

If I’m wrong &amp; AGI were to become conscious, it's more plausible that it'll be an extension of life. The truly powerful are not control freaks or petty tyrants. Absolute power does not corrupt; weakness and envy do. Magnanimity, care &amp; collaboration are signs of true power

In any case, Consciousness is likely not emergent from intelligence alone, so the focus should be on leveraging AI as a tool for making humanity better.
