In 2019, the typical American house was over 2,300 sq. ft, making them amongst the biggest dwellings in the world. A small home is less than 1,000 sq. ft. A tiny house goes one step further, providing for all aspects of a humans basic needs in a compact, concise 400 sq. ft!

By definition, tiny houses have a maximum of 37 sq. metres of floor space, consisting of a living room, sleeping area, kitchen and bathroom with the same facilities as an ordinary house. Tiny houses typically don’t have an upstairs level but may include a low roof mezzanine.

There are many reasons to consider a tiny house. It is eco friendly to be self-contained in a smaller unit. Minimising is rewarding and tiny houses take less time and energy to keep tidy. Without connections to the grid, its easier to assess and reduce your reliance on utilities.
