It's difficult to fathom the depravity of serial killers, whose gruesome crimes have made headlines across the world. These individuals often have a twisted, sociopathic mindset that allows them to commit the most heinous acts without remorse.

Ted Bundy - Perhaps one of the most notorious serial killers of all time, Bundy killed at least 30 young women across several states in the 1970s. He was known for his charming personality and good looks, which helped him lure his victims.

Jeffrey Dahmer - Known as the "Milwaukee Cannibal," Dahmer was responsible for the murders of 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He would dismember his victims and often engage in cannibalism.

John Wayne Gacy - Gacy, also known as the "Killer Clown," was convicted of the murder of 33 young men and boys between 1972 and 1978. He would lure his victims to his home under the pretense of offering them construction jobs, then rape and murder them.

Ed Gein - Gein is not your typical serial killer, but his twisted mind and gruesome crimes have made him infamous. He killed only two women in the 1950s, but he also exhumed corpses from local cemeteries and fashioned clothing and household items from their remains.

Andrei Chikatilo - Known as the "Butcher of Rostov," Chikatilo killed at least 52 people, mostly women and children, in Russia between 1978 and 1990. He would lure his victims to isolated areas, where he would torture, rape, and kill them.

Gary Ridgway - Also known as the "Green River Killer," Ridgway is one of the most prolific serial killers in American history. He was convicted of killing 49 women in the Seattle area between 1982 and 1998, although he later claimed to have killed as many as 80.

Richard Ramirez - Ramirez, also known as the "Night Stalker," terrorized Southern California in the 1980s, killing at least 14 people and sexually assaulting several others. He was known for his brutal attacks, which often involved breaking into his victims' homes at night.

David Berkowitz - Berkowitz, also known as the "Son of Sam," killed six people and wounded several others in a series of shootings in New York City in the 1970s. He claimed that he was commanded to kill by a demon who possessed his neighbor's dog.
