BTS is short for Bangtan Soyeondan in Korean and Bulletproof Boy Scouts/Bangtan Boys in English. The K-pop group consists of seven members: RM, Suga, and J-Hope are the rappers, while Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are the vocalists.

BTS debuted on June 12th, 2013. They have released nine studio albums since then, in Korean and Japanese. Their album 'Map of the soul:7' (2020) is the best-selling album of all time in South Korea.

BTS's most popular songs are 'Dynamite' and 'Butter', two hit singles that are completely in English. They both reached number one in the United States.

BTS has won multiple American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and Golden Disc Awards. They've been nominated for five Grammy Awards. In 2018, being the youngest recipients ever, they received the South Korean Order of Cultural Merit for spreading the Korean language and culture.

Outside of music, BTS has addressed three sessions of the United Nations General Assembly. In 2017, they partnered with UNICEF to establish the 'Love Yourself' anti-violence campain. On May 31th, 2022, they talked with Joe Biden at the White House about anti-Asian hate crimes.

BTS has an enormous fanbase called ARMY: Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. One of the reasons why BTS became popular is their lyrics, that are mostly about social values. Their fans can relate to it and some respond with activism. BTS has many influence on the world.

On June 14th, 2022, BTS announced a scheduled pause in order to complete their mandatory South Korean military service. Two members are currently in the military, while others work on their solo career. The reunion is planned for 2025. Let's see what records they'll break then!
