Why Facebook? Facebook is a text-based platform with a similar audience to Memo’d. Many of these users are there to explore interesting topics, discover new ideas and share their thoughts - just like on Memo’d. Facebook users are also more accustomed to clicking content links.

Get started! Profile: Facebook is a platform built on community ties and group interests. Trust is measured with the age of your Facebook account. Since many groups limit members to those with accounts 6 months or older, it’s best to just use your personal Facebook.

Groups: Showing yourself as a real person and not an advertising machine is critical. You may be asked to answer questions about yourself and your reason for joining groups. Answers should not reflect affiliation with Memo’d.

Strategy: Find active groups on a relevant topic. The ideal group has around 7k members and 5-10 new posts each day. This ensures people will see your content but it won't get buried under an onslaught hundreds of daily posts.

Participate: Posting Memo links in replies is a lower risk way of sharing Memos. Comments don’t get as many clickthroughs, but are less conspicuous. Joining a group and then immediately posting links can send red flags. Get to know the group before linking.

You can post a Memo as its own post in a group. But double check the group rules to be sure they allow links. Style your post similarly to how others share theirs in the group. And make the link incidental to the post rather than an obvious ploy to drive traffic.

Lay low: Do not mention the Memo’d platform. Switch it up and have no more than 50% of your comments include links to a Memo. In general, people don’t care about Memo’d as a company. Content is king. Conversation and subtlety should be the goal.

Bottom Line: Always be conversational. Be yourself. Find the right communities. Engage and don’t sound like an advertising machine. Posts get more engagement but are riskier to being caught. Comments are a low risk way to share.
